Job Title: Faculty Physician - Pulmonary/Critical Care (Assistant or Associate Professor, Clinician Track)

The University of Minnesota, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on a Master Clinician Track.
Position Highlights:
The academic track faculty member will devote clinical effort to providing high quality clinical care in a combination of both critical care and pulmonary medicine with some concurrent education of trainees.
The primary clinical effort will be at the M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN, Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN and the Maplewood Lung Center in Maplewood, MN. Will be adding LTACH coverage in St. Paul when unit opens. However, may be required to travel to other hospitals within the system based upon patient needs.
Will spend approximately 80% of your time seeing pulmonary medicine patients and 20% of the time seeing critical care patients.
There are 20 ICU beds at St. John's Hospital and 8 ICU beds at Woodwinds Hospital and 24 LTACH beds in St. Paul.
Support staff includes respiratory therapy and RN's
Procedures include Bronchoscopy and PFT.
May see between 8-16 patients per day in the clinic setting, depending upon the number of new and follow-up up appointments. In the ICU setting, may see an average 10-12 patients/day.
EPIC EMR is used throughout the healthcare system
Dedicated education and collaborative research activities with the expectation of demonstrated accomplishments consistent with promotion in the academic track.
The faculty will participate actively and contribute to the PACCS Division and Department of Medicine academic and clinical programs, particularly in critical care and the management of complex chronic lung diseases.
Faculty will be encouraged to participate in multiple-investigator studies and grants related to general pulmonary and/or critical care and other Division and Department research projects.
Active participation in the Division's clinical and research conferences, journal club and core curriculum lectures and teaching of students, residents and fellows is expected.
This position is ideal for recently trained, clinically adept pulmonologists/intensivists who are interested in building a practice that promotes high quality care in both academic and community settings and building an area of academic expertise.
About the Division:
The Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep (PACCS) Division includes more than 80 UMN faculty based at four principal hospital sites. We proudly feature nationally recognized programs and leaders in Interstitial Lung Disease, COPD, Lung Transplantation, Critical Care Medicine (Respiratory Failure & ARDS), Cystic Fibrosis, Interventional Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. We aim to find new treatments and cures for diseases in these areas through basic, clinical and 'big data' research, while working to prevent respiratory illness. We partner with faculty across the University and colleagues in the community in our research, clinical, education and training efforts.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship-training program.
Board certified with the ABIM in internal medicine and board eligible/certified in pulmonary and critical.
Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.
