University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon to join our General Surgery practice within MHealth at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. As part of a multidisciplinary surgical practice of nearly 50 general surgeons within University of Minnesota Physicians and M Health Fairview, you will work directly with 6 other General Surgeons in the North Metro Region. Physicians have access to full complement of specialists for consultation, collaborative management or referral as indicated by the health status of the patient. Weekday call will be 1:4 while weekend coverage is 1:7. Established referral base will allow you to be lively from day 1.

Procedures performed include: "bread and butter general surgery", EGDs, colonoscopies, Laparoscopic procedures, Robotic procedures, and light trauma. Wound care is an option if you wish and opportunity for other areas of interest are available.

Practice Highlights:

• Join a team of 6 surgeons (2 in Princeton 4 in Wyoming)

• Working as a member of a close-knit team, we ask our surgeons to provide general surgical care in the following areas:Breast, Cholecystectomy, Skin/Soft Tissue, Endoscopy, Hernia, Stomach, Intestine, and Colon, Trauma care (Level 4), Vascular Ports, and Wound Care.

• Join a team of 6 surgeons (2 in Princeton 4 in Wyoming)

• Admitting Hospital: M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center

• Full time (1.0)

• Call Frequency: 1:4 Weekday and 1:7 Weekends.

• Robotic Access Available If Desired

• We use a primary nursing model where physicians work primarily with the same CMA/RN.

• Cover night and weekend call on a per FTE basis with other partners.

• A team of CRNAs, perioperative staff and perianesthesia staff provide support to surgeons.

• Level 4 Trauma Center staffed 24/7 with Emergency Medicine Physicians.

• Patients are admitted to the 24/7 Hospitalist Service.

• We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).

• Strong primary and specialty care referral base within MHealth Fairview system.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME general surgery residency and/or fellowship-training program.
• Board eligible/certified with the American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
• Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal flexible endoscopy training

• Formal laparoscopic surgery training
