Join us on a mission to advance medicine.
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Minnesota is seeking a part-time board certified/eligible pediatric hospitalist at the Assistant Professor rank on an academic track.
About the Division:
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital (UMMCH) Pediatric Hospitalist will provide care at a combination of our clinical sites. We are a group of 45 part-time and full-time hospitalists who provide coverage at three Twin Cities area hospitals: UMMCH, Fairview Ridges Hospital and Maple Grove Hospital. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of hospitalists, whose primary goal is to provide exceptional, family-centered and innovative care to pediatric patients. The duties of a hospitalist include all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, caring for newborns through 18+ year-old patients, working closely with the primary care physicians and specialists. At each of our clinical sites, we are also involved in teaching medical learners of all types, quality improvement and patient safety projects, as well as administrative and leadership roles. This position provides ample opportunity for faculty development.
The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital created an inpatient pediatric hospitalist program in 2005, the first of its kind in the Twin Cities. UMMCH is an academic teaching hospital and free-standing children's hospital, dedicated to bringing innovation to the bedside. We have a wide range of pediatric subspecialty providers to help deliver care to our medically complex patients. As an internationally renowned Department of Pediatrics we improve pediatric medical practice and change the lives of children through breakthrough research discovery, innovative clinical care, advanced medical education and cross-disciplinary collaboration. H Health Fairview Ridges Hospital is located in the south metro area of Minneapolis, and Maple Grove Hospital is located in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities. We established Pediatric Hospitalist programs in these two community-based hospitals over the past ten years, serving a growing population and complexity of admitted pediatric patients and newborns.
