The Division of Trauma, Acute & Critical Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina is now accepting applications for a full-time academic trauma surgeon.

• Successful candidates will be BC/BE in General Surgery with added certification in Surgical Critical Care. Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care is required. Selected candidates will be committed to research and training of residents and fellows in trauma, critical care and acute care surgery.

• An emphasis on teaching and research (outcomes or the basic sciences) is expected. Academic appointments will be commensurate with the candidate’s academic record.

• Team spirit and the ability to interact with a multitude of specialists and subspecialists is essential.

• Our group prides itself on communication and delivering expert and timely care to all patients regardless of background or affliction. Opportunities for growth and development are ubiquitous and encouraged.

Duke University Medical Center, an 1100 bed teaching hospital is an ACS verified Level I Adult Trauma Center with over 4100 trauma activations per year.
