The Nocturnist will serve as the supervisory inpatient attending hospitalist for house staff on call for the Medicine services overnight and on the weekends, as well as serve as primary admitting physician for adult patients who are admitted facilitating patient flow and teaching service capacity. He/ she will facilitate intra-facility and interfacility transfers, respond to rapid responses and codes, and be available for any acute clinical issues for inpatients during their tours of duty.
