The philosophy and beliefs of Southern California Permanente Medical Group are rooted in the founding principles of the Kaiser Permanente integrated managed care partnership established in 1945 between physicians and the Kaiser Foundation. That word - partnership - is important. We are a physician-led partnership with a mission to transform the practice of medicine.

At SCPMG, we continue to empower our providers to lead. We understand that our success is made possible through the skills, ambition and leadership of our physicians and professional staff. We invest in our physicians and staff through continuing education, training, technology support and a nation-leading Physician Wellness program. And to further the legacy of our philosophy we are investing in the future: the Permanente Medical School - scheduled to open in 2019 - will train future generations of doctors to practice responsible, ethical, collaborative and fulfilling medicine.

The Los Angeles Medical Center(LAMC) is the region's largest facility--and SCPMG's largest teaching facility--with a broad offering of primary, specialty, tertiary, and quaternary care programs for a highly diverse patient population. Despite its size, the center is remarkably compact, providing physicians with ready access to interaction and support. Our leadership is dedicated to transparency, and to providing opportunities for others to step up and have a voice. The center's Graduate Medical Education program is another hallmark, along with our established culture of collaboration and accountability. Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) is the region's tertiary pediatric facility, providing care within a CHA designed children's hospital (33 bed NICU, 16 bed PICU, and 32 peds pediatric ward) and with regional programs such as neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, pediatric pain, cystic fibrosis, metabolic diseases, bone marrow transplant, and hemodialysis. LAMC is the host of our regional pediatric residency program and Kaiser Permanente hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program.
