Completes initial assessment and evaluation of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patient's medical condition and provides treatment. Reports to Physician Supervisor. Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures and authorizes and coordinates all specialty and ancillary services.Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screening, immunization program, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc. Participates in wide range of clinical research projects and studies. Participates in multidisciplinary team activities, including case conferences, etc. Provides inservice staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through Medical practice. Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurse, rehab staff etc.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation evaluation and treatment of outpatients including but not limited to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, concussion, progressive neurological disorders, and multi-trauma.
• Participate in specialty clinics including Inova Loudoun Concussion Clinic, Neuro Rehab, Orthotics & Prosthetics Clinic, Wheelchair Seating and Mobility Clinic, Movement Disorders Clinic, Assistive Technology Clinic, and Post Covid-19 Recovery Program.
• Daily evaluation and treatment of community-dwelling outpatients with neurological disorders included but not limited to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, concussion, progressive neurological disorders, and multi-trauma.
• Provide inpatient consultations to inpatients at multiple levels of care.
• Provide clinical expertise within the rehabilitation service line to improve quality of care for patients with complex neurological disorders.
• Build effective relationships with referring physicians to ensure excellent team follow-up regarding patient consults and to build an improved culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, and rehabilitation.
• Active participation in interdisciplinary team rounds and meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Licensed as a physician in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Privileges at Inova Loudoun Hospital
• High level of interpersonal skills that allows effective communications with a wide variety of clinicians, physicians, patients, affiliated institutions and the general public.
