The Vice Chair will build upon a legacy of community healthcare based in a century-old affiliation with Los Angeles’s largest public hospital to drive a vision of expanded, innovative primary care delivery. The Vice Chair will work collaboratively toward impact in complex, adaptive systems by recruiting and retaining world-class clinical faculty, enhancing the framework for seamless clinical operations, and integrating with the research and education components of the Department.
There are currently 64 front-line clinicians across the Department. Included in this number are 35 physicians, 22 Advanced Practice Providers, three Behavioral Health providers, and four community health workers/nurses. Faculty practice providers serve over 3,000 patients and student health serves over 4,000 patients per month in person or via telemedicine. Headquartered at Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, the faculty practice also provides care to the following communities: Downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena, Arcadia, and Glendale. The Vice Chair will work very closely with clinic managers and operational leaders to develop strategically aligned goals to increase productivity, enhance quality measures, and grow the Department’s footprint in the community. Capitalizing on KSOM’s extraordinary strengths, entrepreneurial spirit, and unparalleled location in Los Angeles, the Vice Chair will be key to nurturing a sustainable culture and instilling key values of social justice and excellence of practice in the next generation of family medicine clinician leaders.
