Able to identify treatments and pharmacology utilized in an adult Critical Care Unit
Accurate data abstraction from patient electronic record and entry to the APACHE Database
Assist/advise Critical Care analyst in the finalization of Unit’s Dashboard Presentation for assigned ICUs
Participate in Critical Care Dashboard Presentation meetings for assigned ICUs
Actively participate in the hands-on training of new APACHE Coordinators
Able to educate and help other disciplines understand the APACHE methodology
Serves as APACHE clinical content expert for AdventHealth
Uses critical thinking and independent judgement when conflicting clinical information is present to determine appropriate categorization of data elements and outcomes. This may include making clinical inferences with autonomy to accurately capture all required metrics
Maintains professional work environment that is conducive to achieving accuracy and productivity goals. Completes independent validation of variances prior to abstraction submission. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
Responsible for seeking opportunities to maintain clinical expertise to incorporate latest developments and trends related to assigned registry and national clinical guidelines. Attends educational, registry, or other conferences and training as appropriate.

What You Will Need:
Two (2) or more years of Critical Care Bedside Nursing or equivalent (ICU/SDU)
Graduate of school of nursing (RN)
Current, valid license as a registered professional nurse (RN)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of Acute Physiology and Pathophysiology of Multiorgan Body System (APACHE)
Strong understanding of complex medical conditions and surgical procedures to make clinical judgements on appropriateness of clinical care to measure quality and outcomes
Ability to make independent decisions when considering a broad range of internal/external clinical variables to adhere to APACHE guidelines
Comprehensive knowledge of active treatments and modalities utilized in a Critical Care setting
Proficiency in Cerner Powerchart (or equivalent Electronic Medical Record System)
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Products (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision, including remote locations
Exceptional planning, management, and organizational skills
Effective communication skills with ability to communicate with physicians, leadership, front line team members, and patients
Ability to coordinate complex assignments independently
The Acute Physiology And Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) Coordinator is a professional nurse responsible for maintaining data integrity by carefully reviewing and collecting data of adult critical care patients to obtain the variables required to formulate predictions including: Intensive Care Units (ICU) Hospital Length of Stay (LOS), ICU Hospital Mortality, Ventilator Length of Stay, Severity of Illness and Level of Therapy. The nurse utilizes previous clinical experience and knowledge to review and make inferences of clinical care to submit the required data elements. The APACHE Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with all the departments impacted by the APACHE system as well as the utilization of APACHE data to improve the quality of care in our Critical Care Units. The nurse actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
