You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork.
Creates and maintains positive working relationships with hospital staff, including leadership and medical, support and clinical staff.
Collaborates with hospital partners in the development and implementation of annual strategic plans; tracks and reports on progress.
Keeps hospital profiles within iTransplant current; includes donation policies, identification of hospital champions and list of key contacts.
Performs medical record reviews in assigned hospitals and regularly shares results with hospital partners; addresses any significant findings of lost potential organ donors.
Works closely with the clinical services staff on all referrals and donors to continuously evaluate for quality assurance purposes; includes critical care unit rounding and reporting.
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, middle grade education, biology, life sciences or health-related field OR Four (4) years of Nursing experience
Three (3) years of work experience in business, middle school education or healthcare
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealthPolicy
The Donor Program Specialist (DPS) works closely with leadership and staff in assigned facilities to establish effective processes and a supportive culture to consistently maximize donor opportunities. The DPS represents TransLife to all levels of hospital and system leadership. The DPS conducts donor case follow-up, which includes but is not limited to collecting, maintaining and reporting of performance data to ensure hospital understanding and satisfaction with the donor experience. The DPS presents education programs for day and night shift staff, provides guidance on policy development, serves as the primary resource to donor teams, encourages collaboration for improvement initiatives and helps to coordinate recognition events, registry drives, and conferences. The Specialist provides analysis, development and implementation of an in-depth annual hospital plan, works collaboratively with the TransLife Clinical Services staff, and, at times, responds individually or in tandem with a clinical coordinator to an active donor referral. The DPS actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
