ChristianaCare is recruiting a full-time health psychologist to join the Psychosocial Oncology program at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (HFGCCRI) in Newark, Delaware. The primary function is to provide direct psychosocial services to people affected by cancer in outpatient, inpatient and remote settings. This work includes individual, couples, and family counseling, multidisciplinary team collaboration, and inpatient consultations to oncology and BMT/CAR T patients in the Christiana Hospital. Outpatient counseling services are offered in person and virtually, with psychologists working a hybrid on-site and remote work schedule.
Psychologists participate in clinical supervision of psychology students, including externs, an intern, and a post-doctoral fellow. Additional functions include participation in program development, collaboration in psycho-oncology and cancer prevention and control research, pre-SCT/CAR T evaluations, supervision/mentoring of psychiatry, oncology, and family medicine residents or fellows, Commission on Cancer distress screening activities, integrated medical visits, and participation in tumor conferences. There is opportunity for additional specialization within psycho-oncology.
Ph.D./Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program
Pre-doctoral internship from an APA-accredited site
Specialty post-doctoral training in psycho-oncology or 2 or more years of other significant psycho-oncology training or professional experience working with individuals impacted by cancer.
Qualified applicants are comfortable working on large medical and support care teams, coordinating care in interdisciplinary settings, and will have training and experience collaborating in behavioral research, program development, and mentoring. Bilingual (Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be eligible for license in Delaware.
