This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Duties included but not limited to: Attending responsibilities for the Medical ICU team (including direct patient care, supervision of residents, and Critical Care fellows. Consultations in the Surgical ICU including: Direct patient care. Supervision of residents and Critical Care fellows and advance practice providers. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, advance practice providers, and other allied health professionals. Perform Critical Care procedures in accordance with Institutional policies. Occasional inpatient consultations for Pulmonary. Must be eligible for an academic appointment with UNM. Serve in VA Medical Center department and hospital committees as requested by the Section Chief. Diagnosis, treatment and support of patients in need of critical care for life threatening disorders. Coordination of patient care among the primary physician, critical care staff and other specialists. Evaluate, diagnose, provide consultation, treat and manage patients with chronic and/or acute diseases of the lungs and airways. Evaluation, monitoring, treatment and prevention of sleep disorders by using a combination of techniques (clinical evaluation, physiologic testing, imaging, and intervention) and medication.
