The James J. Peters VAMC is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. The James J. Peters VA is seeking a Physician ( Infection Disease) who will be a member of the ID Section/Medical Subspecialty Patient Care Center and will participate in patient care, teaching, and administrative activities of the Section, as assigned. Leadership responsibility for the Outpatient Antibiotic Treatment (OPAT) program serve as primary point of contact for consultation from the JJP Renal Transplant Program. Participate in Infection Control Program and Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs. Provide patient care at the James J Peters VA Medical Center including primary care for HIV infected veterans. Participate in HIV PREP clinics, share inpatient and outpatient general Infectious Disease Consultation duties. Collaborate with the Infection Control Program and Antimicrobial Stewardship programs and provide coverage during leadership absences. Advise hospital administration on measures necessary to remain in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements for OPAT and Renal Transplant infection Attend on the Infectious Diseases inpatient consultation service. Attend on the Internal Medicine inpatient consultation service Teach medical students, interns and residents in Internal Medicine, Pharmacy trainees and fellows in Infectious Diseases. Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned by the Chief, Infectious Disease Section and the Chief of Staff.
