| The Stratton VA medical Center, located in Albany NY, is currently looking to fill Hospitalist vacancies. The Hospitalist's principal clinical responsibilities include patient care and clinical coverage of medical inpatients and patients under medical consultations. Hospitalists functions as an integral physician member of a cooperative and collegial health care team as well as the entire medical center Staff. Hospitalists are charged with delivering the best possible care to our veteran patients in accordance with hospital policy and meet the community standards. Duties that a performed by hospitalists but are not limited to: - Manage Consultatively the care of patients on the medical, surgical, nursing home and behavioral health units - Maintain good clinical, professional, and personal judgement at all times - Participate in quality management and other activities as directed - Perform rounds on the medical ward - Provide medical consultation services for psychiatric in-patients with acute or subacute medical care needs - Perform health assessments (for medical issues) for patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric services as needed - Expected to evaluate, supervise house staff, and manage clinical issues and changes as needed on their patients - Consult with appropriate specialty services when more specialized evaluation or intervention may be required - Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Flexible. 7 Days on and 7 days off option available. Some weekend and holidays required if you work Monday to Friday. Subject to change based on the needs of the facility. Schedule will be discussed at the time of interview.
