The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System is seeking a Site Chief for Community Living Center and responsible for leading interdisciplinary staff in providing quality resident-centered care. A RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION INCENTIVE MAY BE AUTHORIZED FOR A HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATE. The Geriatric and Extended Care Site Chief will provide clinical and managerial oversight of Community Living Center (CLC). The GEC service primarily treats veterans 65 years of age and older. He/she works with an interdisciplinary team and supervises other Geriatricians and Nurse practitioners who are primary care providers for population of mostly Geriatrics Veterans residing in Waco CLC in Central Texas VA. Majority of residents in Waco CLC are admitted for long term Dementia Care, other services include Short Rehab, Skilled care, Hospice Care. Waco CLC has a small behavioral unit. The Site Chief plans, develops and maintains a comprehensive program to ensure compliance with applicable standards; ensure the best possible care to our veterans to include short term and long term care and coordinate treatment services within CLC and collaborate with mid-level practitioners as assigned. Site Chief also provides oversite and supervision for NPs who work as MODs after normal working hours. He/she will participate in strategic planning and the establishing of short and long range goals and plans related to the Community Living Center Programs; coordinates with appropriate representatives from other service lines as needed to ensure appropriate referral and follow up for the Community Living Center residents that require medical specialty, psychiatric and diagnostic services. Serves as a faculty member and mentor to Fellows, residents and students assigned to the Geriatrics Extended Care. IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT MAY BE REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday) Selectee may be on call every 4 to 8 weeks. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
