This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The staff physician will work on a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and follow PACT principles working 8 business hours, but will not work less than 80 business hours during a two-week pay period. However, there are multiple tours available based on clinic need, including compressed tours. Additional hours will usually be needed outside of shifts to provide non face-to-face care. Clinical Responsibilities: Provides primary care services for a panel determined by the facility. Performs physical exams, including comprehensive Women's services, according to performance measure guidelines and procedures. Dictates/types notes according to policy/procedure.Screens outpatients to determine need for further care. Evaluates unscheduled patients. Orders diagnostic studies. Carries out health promotion and disease prevention activities. Initiates and expedites requests for consultations and scheduling special tests and studies. Develops relationships with management, co-workers, patients, families and the general public which are consistently courteous, respectful; and cooperative in nature. Assures the needs and rights of patients and other customers are met white also supporting the VA missions. Consistently communicates with Veterans, their family members, representatives, visitors, and all VA staff. Ensures productivity is maintained at the established level for the program for which he/she is responsible. Administrative Responsibilities: Adheres to operational policies and procedures for their PACT, established by the Service Line Manager. Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate service. Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders and encounters for all patients. Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures) e.g. entering diagnostic and procedure codes).Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Service Line Manager (or designee) and facility Director. Attends regular Service Line Staff meetings, Clinic Team meetings and complies with Primary Care Service Line peer review procedures. Works effectively with team members to facilitate care including timely responses to patients secure messages within 72 hours, completing medical forms, entering patient consults for specialty services, engaging in telehealth, caring responses to patient complaints and other administrative duties. Maintains current BLS certification and performs completion of mandatory educational classes.
