The VA New Jersey Healthcare System, East Orange campus is currently looking for a Board Certified or Board eligible Infectious Disease Physician to join their team in treating and caring for our veterans. The physician will participate in inpatient and outpatient quality care, teaching, and research related to infectious diseases. He/she will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of infectious diseases. He/she will participate in the education and supervision of trainees. General duties include, but are not limited to: Clinical practice, supervising and teaching fellows, residents and medical students in the specialties of Infectious Disease. Responsible for providing consultation on various forms of infectious disease, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Shares attending call responsibilities with other Infectious Disease specialists in covering some nights, weekend and holiday calls as needed. Physician will round with the team of fellow(s), resident(s), and medical students as regards to inpatient settings. Designs work processes and systems that are responsive to customers, ensures that daily work and the VA's strategic direction are customer-centered. Work collaboratively with other specialists and Primary Care (PACT) teams to ensure patients receive continuous quality care. Provides specialty care to HIV and chronic hepatitis patients in collaboration with ID pharmacists Participates in Infection Control and Antibiotic stewardship activities. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, with possibilities of on call scheduling nights, weekends and holidays, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
