Supervise the daily activities related to the inventory management process for the Surgical Suite in order to contribute to the assurance of optimal patient care. Supervise inventory management assistants working in the surgical suite. Assists in maintaining departmental compliance with regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission and Department of Health.
Responsible for surgical services electronic tissue tracking and weekly tissue audits to remain compliant with regulatory agency requirements, include auditing implant records.
Maintains Surgical Suite lean inventory process (KanBan) the corresponding inventory location (IC81or DORA) within the materials management information system (MMIS) and the Plan For Every Part (PFEP) spreadsheet.
Directs the work of Inventory Management Assistants.
Works closely with the Supply Chain and Surgical Suite staff to develop and maintain realistic supply levels with minimal inventory investment. Assists in the inventory tracking and returns process.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under the direction of the Manager CSR/Surgical Inventory.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years healthcare inventory management experience required.
Lean inventory process knowledge preferred.
Requires six months on the job to become familiar with all duties.
Certification in Healthcare Material Management Concepts within 1 year of hire required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Lifting to waist and above is required. May
also require pushing and pulling of carts. Occasional lifting of heavier supplies may be required.
