Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Radiologists in its efforts to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize physician communication.
This position will facilitate and enhance the working environment for the Radiologists by improving workflow to increase communication and efficiency of critical results. Effectively communicate non critical test results to physicians and health care providers in an accurate and timely manner. Enhance work-flow by assisting the Radiologist in managing patient information and priority requests. Follow HIPAA organizational policies and guidelines. Provide primary communication support and take appropriate action to facilitate requests.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates excellent verbal and communication skills, organizational skills and flexibility. Able to handle a high volume and pressure situations with maturity.
Demonstrates administrative skills with knowledge of medical / radiology terminology and experience with Microsoft Works and GroupWise.
Demonstrates high regard for confidentiality, competence in oral and written communications and the ability to work both independently and as a team player.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one to three years previous radiology related experience preferred in a healthcare environment working with physicians and customers.
Minimum of two years’ experience preferred with the Radiology Information System, EPIC and/ or Radiologist Reporting System.
Minimum of three months on the job training to become familiar with all duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office / radiologist reading room environment.
