JOB TITLE: Manager of Faculty Affairs LOCATION: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine- Scranton Campus DEPARTMENT: Faculty Affairs WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the development and implementation of programs to support faculty including but not limited to: oversight of the appointment, promotion, and tenure processes; faculty renewals; facilitation of retention of faculty; oversight of the faculty database; managing faculty membership of school standing committees; providing resources for faculty career advancement with a thorough knowledge and adherence to all faculty policies, regulations and procedures of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM).
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: In depth knowledge of relevant subject matter. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects. Facility in handling data base information. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team. Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree Proficiency in database configuration and data management (database development skills preferred) Minimum five years’ functional experience required
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Position may involve driving as required based on organizational structure.
