Works closely with specialists and primary care physicians to ensure that inpatients receive continuous high quality care
Provide inpatient medicine consultations to other services, including but not limited to, Mental Health and Surgery
Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews
Communicates with incoming and off going Hospitalists to ensure continuity of care
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and huddles
Respond to code blue & Rapid Response Team calls throughout the facility while on duty, and is a lead disaster team coordinator for triage during disaster or mass casualty situations
Board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine preferred. Shifts may be variable, generally 16 hours (4 P to 8A) M-F; 24 hours (8a to 8 a Sat/Sun) to provide 80 hour per two week pay period.
Responsibilities to include supervision of a swing shift admitter, performing admissions, and providing acute of care of hospitalized patients and residents of the community long term living center.
Preferred Experience: Prefer the incumbent is board certified or board eligible.

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
