The VA Long Beach Healthcare System in Long Beach, California, is in search of an aspiring surgeon to lead the Vascular Surgery section of the Surgical and Invasive Procedures Healthcare Group. Ideal candidates would be Board Certified in Vascular Surgery, and possess excellent clinical skills in both open and endovascular surgery. Expertise in intra- and extravascular ultrasound, wound care, access, and advanced endovascular techniques would be ideal. This section chief would report to the Chief of Surgery and lead a section of 4 other vascular surgeons with which call is shared. Opportunities in general surgery, resident education, advanced wound care, and facility leadership abound. Ideal candidates would be based predominately at the VA but also participate part-time at our academic affiliate, UC Irvine Health. Demonstration of prior leadership experience is highly desired.

Citizenship: United States
Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure and Registration: Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Language Proficiency: Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by Title 38 U.S.C. 7402 and 7405(f).
